Lembeh Strait, Indonesia - Blue Elements Imaging

Lembeh Indonesia Expedition

August 31-September 9, 2017

It's time to show the little critters some love! Join Blue Elements Imaging as we partner with Scubashooters.net to travel to the underwater macro photography capitol of the world - Lembeh, Indonesia! We will be staying at the luxurious Dabirahe Dive, Spa, and Leisure Resort in Bitung on the island of North Sulawesi for 8 days (9 nights) of world-class muck and reef diving.

Dive Conditions

We will be diving during the month of September, which is one of the best months to explore Lembeh Strait! Water temperatures are pleasant, typically around 75°-81°F (3mm-5mm wetsuits are recommended) with air temperatures hovering around 86°F year-round. Dive depths are typically between 15-100ft with visibility averaging 30-80ft. The waters of Lembeh tend to have gentle currents with calm surface conditions.

We will be doing 8 days of boat diving, for a total of 24 dives. While much of the diving will be macro-focused, there are also some beautiful reefs around Lembeh that we will visit too. If you want to take advantage of all that Lembeh has to offer, be sure to bring your macro and wide-angle underwater photography kits.

*****PLEASE NOTE*****  Gloves are NOT allowed when diving Lembeh, unless you have a medical reason for wearing them, in which case you will need to bring a signed letter from your doctor.

Airport transfers are provided by Dabirahe Resort from and to Sam Ratulangi International Airport (airport code MDC) in Manado on the island of North Sulawesi. Please plan on arriving to and departing from Manado. Traveling from Manado it will be a 1.5-2 hour drive on the shuttle to Dabirahe Resort.

We will be staying at Dabirahe Dive, Spa and Leisure Resort which is located on the east coast of North Sulawesi adjacent to Lembeh Strait. Villas are double occupancy, with each villa boasting a gorgeous view of Lembeh Strait. All villas are air conditioned and have free wi-fi. The resort has a lounge and a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Additional activities include relaxing at the spa, swimming in the infinity pool, trekking, and sunbathing.
